Becky, the only Rose worthy of being the Rose of Roses.

The Rose of Roses is the singles title the Roses compete for in the Rumble Roses games

Description[]

The Rose of Roses title appears in both games. For some unexplained reason in the first game the title is simply called the "Rose of Roses" and has a more overall color scheme with the center seemingly being an adorned jewel with the "Rumble Roses" logo in the bottom center and on the top following the oval shape of the title is the words "Rose of Roses" engraved. The faceplate and center of the title is somewhat oval shaped with 2 side plates next to the side ones and noticeable straps for adjusting to the champion Rose's waist while she wears it in her midsection, although judging by the size of the title and where the buckles start the size of the title somewhat betrays the purpose of the division as the wraparound radius is too wide of the waist of any of the Roses, none of the Roses are ever seen wearing the title. Interesting getting a clear unblurred view of this and the sequel title is rather difficult due to Konami adding a blur effect that is very prominent during movements while introductions play.

Becky with the Rose of Roses XX belt.

Similarly to Becky, the Rose of Roses title belt underwent a drastic visual overhall despite keeping the same overall proportions. Firstly the title is now called the "Rose of Roses XX" compared to just "Rose of Roses", The top plate changes design with a female figure, probably based on Kamikaze Rose, is above the Rumble Roses logo. The logo itself is a bit higher on the faceplate to make space for a new "XX" engraving to match the second game. The side plates are same shape but have different engravings and the buckles to adjust for wearing are the same position with different colors. As the shape of this belt is the same as the other it is also too big for the waist of the Roses.

Becky Acknowledged as the Rose of Roses during an introduction.

Both titles have different acquirement conditions due to being from 2 different games. The original game requires a challenging Rose to be either at max face or heel level. The original champion is Lady X- Substance and the player has to both raise a Rose to the requirements and use the same Rose to defeat the much stronger robot. After this players can defend the championship or prepare another Rose to take the title. A quick workaround is challenge a specific Rose via the "Defend The Championship" option and lose on purpose. In this case the player doesn't get any of the advantages of winning the title with a Rose on purpose.

The Rose of Roses belt could be seen on Becky's name as she is the current and only worthy bearer of the title.

The XX version must be battled when a Rose is 100% on popularity alongside both defeating all "original" Roses (meaning not their alter egos) and competing in all stages. The champion will be Lady X- Subsistence and the player using his prepared Rose will have to defeat the much stronger robot to take the title. Once defeated the Robots can never be champion again. Once a Rose is champion every match that is not exhibition will be for the title meaning if she is defeated the winning Rose will be champion. Once the player challenges for the title with a different Rose the defending Rose will be in her superstar persona for the title defense.

Trivia[]

  • With cheating devices on the U.S. version of the first game the player can win the title as Sebastian (called Manager in this version). If the player beats the champion Rose with him the title effectively 'disappears' with all menus related to the title graying out and no way to give a Rose the title again.
  • Noble Rose has "Rose of Roses" written in her superstar outfit, this is odd as the outfit was not in the original game and Rose of Roses refers to the PS2 version of the title and not the "Rose of Roses XX" version in the game the outfit appears in.
